Frequently asked questions.
What is pharmaceutical 3D printing?
This is a technology that enables the production of medications on demand, in an automated and personalized way. While the preparation of capsules or liquid suspensions remains manual, time-consuming, and limited in functionality today, our MED-U Prod solution automates manufacturing directly in pharmacies. The process involves three steps: connect a ready-to-use cartridge, select the dosage and quantity, and then dispense to the patient. The result: about 50% savings per unit produced and an approximately 60% reduction in manual handling.
Where can the printer be installed and used?
The solution is designed for compounding pharmacies and hospital pharmacies. Its technology is compatible with a decentralized model, meaning production can be distributed across multiple sites while maintaining consistent, industrial-grade quality. It easily integrates into a pharmacy's workflow without requiring a heavy production infrastructure.
Is my molecule compatible with this technology?
Compatibility depends on the molecule and the targeted formulation. We develop cartridges in co-development with hospitals and have a patented formulation platform. Each molecule is evaluated by our R&D and formulation team. The easiest way is to let us know your needs so we can study the feasibility.
What types of formulations can be produced?
Beyond classic oral forms, technology opens access to differentiating administration forms, notably orodispersible and extended-release forms, which are difficult to obtain through manual preparation.
Is the technology certified and compliant with pharmaceutical requirements?
The solution complies with the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) applicable to pharmacy preparations. Our team includes dedicated regulatory and quality expertise.
Can I request a demo?
Yes. We offer demonstrations upon request. Contact us via the website form and our team will get back to you to organize a presentation tailored to your establishment.
