MB Therapeutics and the Nîmes University Hospital engaged in an innovation partnership for the development of custom-made medicines using pharmaceutical 3D printing

In a context of growing concern for France's health sovereignty, the Nîmes University Hospital and MB Therapeutics are partnering to offer innovative medical solutions, better adapted to the specific needs of patients, while diversifying therapeutic options beyond standard treatments.
Personalized next-generation medications
This new partnership makes it possible to optimize standardized oral forms, particularly for children and the elderly, by offering individualized solutions to swallowing problems or precise adjustments to posology and dosage.
This latest generation technology precisely personalizes treatments taking into account the age, physical condition and special needs of patients.
Medications manufactured, in situ, at the Nîmes University Hospital
The manufacture of these unique medications, which guarantee better management and greater effectiveness of care, is based on the use of an industrial-grade pharmaceutical 3D printer, capable of producing them directly in a dedicated unit of the Nîmes University Hospital: the UPM (Unit of Production of Medications).
For medical professionals, this innovation brings significant benefits. Manual preparations, often repetitive, can be carried out by automated processes, under supervision. This reduces the risk of errors and the time spent on these tasks, thereby allowing teams to focus on their core business: personalized support for patients and continuous improvement of their care.
A shared commitment to strengthen the national pharmaceutical industry
This alliance aims to improve the University Hospital's capacity to produce its own medications, thus contributing to better security of supply at the local and national levels. In a context of fragility in global supply chains, it promotes the development of local and more resilient pharmaceutical production.
